Central Ohio Orienteering at Alum Creek SP

With the family, attended this local meet. We happened to be in the area for the weekend while visiting some friends in Columbus. Sandwiched between two rainy days on Friday and Sunday, this Saturday event got the best sunny day ever. Score course had 20 controls. Good turnout. Made a mistake even before starting the run: while drawing the circles on my map, and had to draw for a control placed in a pit in an area that had two pits, adjacent to each other about 50 meters from each other, i circled the WRONG pit. When I got to the area, I searched and searched, and found the pit (the mapped feature) but not the hanging control. After a while gave up and went on, convinced that a muggler snatched it (geocaching term, sorry...). Looking at my route, looks like I ran about 8.7 km in 65 minutes. Met Eugene, Marek, Martin, and others. Talked about Midland English as being the most accent-neutral version of American english. After the meet, found the Beaver Pond Cache, located about 12 meters NE from a control in a ditch on the eastern side of a pond.
